Love...18 different ways!

Valentine's Day: a day of love, romance, flowers and being together! Greg surprised me with a bouquet of beautiful flowers-18 roses with lilies! They grace my table and make me smile every time I walk into the room. He's the sweetest, best Valentine I could ever want! Love you lots, babe!

Now showing...the dark side!

Yes, the Dark Side is here.....not sure if that means I have left the PC world for good as right now, I'm very much in the dark as to how to work this new machine! What I'm most excited about it the photo/graphics capability of this big machine.
Right out of the box with only a single cord. No CPU, no extra cables, and a great speaker system built right in. I was amazed at how easy it was to install. Just wish learning the nuances of the operating system was as easy! But I've ordered the Missing Manual series for Switching over to a Mac. We'll see if that helps with the learning curve!
That's all there is to the back....and to think my first computer was the Apple IIc and it was so much more complicated to get started (and it was considered a portable computer!) And no, I'm not telling anyone how long ago that was. Google it, if you must!
The keyboard that was included was tiny, no 10 key pad, so I opted to purchase another keyboard that was more like I was used to. The mouse is the new-fangled "smart" mouse that has no roller ball or scroll bar; you just use your fingers. If only the operator was as smart!
All set up and ready to go! I played around with the tutorials for awhile and then spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to turn the thing off! Exciting stuff! Gotta love the learning curve! Yep, I'm definitely in the dark!

Coming soon....the dark side!

Does that intrigue you? All I can say is.....Greg tells me I've gone over to the dark side! I just think I made a great decision!

Sweet Sixteen!

Yep, that's right! We celebrated our wedding anniversary in style. We combined it with our date weekend and had a wonderful evening. We chose "sunsets" as our photography topic and headed up to the winery nearby. Willamette Valley Vineyard is set on a spectacular hill overlooking the coastal range and valley. The crab and clam chowder festival was in full force so after enjoying our crab and chowder, we headed out to the deck to catch the sunset.

Greg is patiently waiting for the sun to set; I'm just trying to stay warm. It had been a nice day with lots of sunshine but once the sun started to go down, so did the temps! It became quite chilly quite fast!

The winery is large and very pretty at night with all the lights on. We've never been up in the tower but what a view this must have!

The start of the sunset: right about 5pm15 minutes later....the sky became quite blue. Not as many color variations as we were hoping for but we did learn that we have a lot to learn!!! This photography stuff is fun but can be frustrating too! It will interesting to see how we do by the end of the year!

I love that our cameras have timers. We don't rely on others anymore and can just capture the moments. Happy Anniversary, babe! Can't wait for more!

Tea Time

I absolutely love tea....especially on days when it's rainy, cold and a good time to curl up with a book and blanket. So I was quite intrigued when I found out about flower teas. My sister, Beth, introduced me to this type of tea last year when we purusing a tea shop in Seattle. I didn't try any but thought it would be a fun way to enjoy my tea. I was pleased to receive a tea pot and some tea flowers from a co-worker as a gift! It's quite good and I am enjoying the processing! Now it's off to read for awhile with my flower tea!

To Beard or Not to Beard

It was in October that I noticed Greg hadn't shaved in several days....not like him at all! He's very neat and particular about his appearance so it was quite surprising to see the growth of facial hair on him. Plus I believe I made a comment that was complimentary in nature (something like I thought he looked sexy!! he,he!). So there was no more shaving.......
until the day before New Year's Eve! He shaved right before bedtime, and has been my usual custom lately, I was reading my photography book in bed, and didn't even pay any attention until it was time to kiss goodnight!
He's not sure about growing it again, especially since a cold happened upon him. He really wouldn't have liked to have been dealing with a runny nose and facial hair. So it's back to smooth skin and morning routines again! We'll see if he keeps it that way!

(Twenty Ten)

You might have seen these photos from the past two years, but there is a reason they are here again. We decided our date weekends in 2010 are going to focus on taking photographs....so we have weddings (not sure whom, where, etc - and Greg really isn't excited about this, but I want to try my skills on this again!), sports, landscapes, macro, flowers, kids (that's probably the easiest....grandkids here we come!) etc.......mmmm....could get interesting. We are still deciding what the January focus will be.....my only requirement is that isn't someplace cold!!!!
weddings
nature
landscapes
sports
Stay tuned for more on January!
