We decided it was time to put in raised garden beds....well......one thing led to another and we managed to do much more damage than just the beds. We are now putting in dry river beds, bigger flower beds and even added a bed to our front yard for my roses! It only took us 5 years to get to this stage!!
Sod had to go to put in the river bed next to the taxiway apron.
We rented a dumpster -our newest wheels! - to put all the sod in. It was a blessing to have this. This is the empty stage. We ended up filling up over 1/2 of this big monster!
Can you say rock - as in 8 yards of river rock. My back and arms hurt just looking at the piles!

The garden beds are planted and yes, we cheated! We put in plants instead of seeds in some of the beds. We planted 3 rows of beans (we are trying purple ones), 6 rows of beets, tomato plants, cucumbers, squash and peppers.
